Move over Project Runway, there are some new designers in town! With the help of Supima the promotional organization for the cotton industry, 25 up-and-coming designers were given a once in a lifetime opportunity to showoff their design skills in a private runway show and competition held at Gotham Hall in New York City on July 15.
The diverse group of designers (chosen from an open call) were given four weeks to produce an unique women’s evening wear look from top-quality Supima cotton which would be judged for originality, use of technique, and design. Judges included Ellianna Placas, Fashion Director of Life & Style and former Project Runway contestant, Kevin Christiana, who had just a bit of experience with this sort of competition!
