Industry analyst Dave Goebel, president of Goebel Group Inc., says the shift away from the desktop and toward the Web is the result of the “consumerization of IT,” which he says has caused companies to believe that “users don’t care where the data’s stored. They just want to get to it and use it to make decisions in the business.”
